MacKerricher State Park
A fun and beautiful change of scenery! MacKerricher State park is just north of Fort Bragg, California. About 100 north of San Francisco.
Bosco Images
This year I joined the BOSCO Boise Artist Collective and will take part in their open studio event. They asked for a number of things for their website and marketing materials including an artist portrait and a studio shot. And some images of my work. I have a brilliant photographer neighbor who came over andContinue reading “Bosco Images”
Finished!
I worked out some final details on this big plein air piece. When I started it I wondered if the scale of the project was too ambitious, but I allowed it to develop over time and I didn’t feel a rush to complete the whole piece right away. Then I used red, pink, and orange acrylic paint for the underpainting. You will see inContinue reading “New Biggish Piece”

I feel so rushed to produce a whole painting start to finish in one session, it’s a little overwhelming and I think my paintings look rushed. So I’m going to try to go back to the same location several timesContinue reading “A Good Start”
Hulen Meadow
I put a tiny little bit more time into this plein air painting that I did while in Ketchum, Idaho. I had a great weekend of painting, the mountains are unusual and amazing pretty much everywhere you turn. I put together this slideshow to show the progression of the piece. I put it in thisContinue reading “Hulen Meadow”
