11X14 oil on deep edge canvas I Spent the morning painting in this meadow in Ketchum. It was beautiful and cold. This meadow is right next to the Wood River and a small outlet runs through it. While I was painting a biker and 2 dogs visited me and then went right down this trailContinue reading “Ketchum”
What a place! Sun Valley is big and majestic and hard to know what to paint and where to start. The third painting is still a work in progress but I like how the little round bushes look, so I included it. I’ve been messing around with colors on it. There are parts of theContinue reading “Sun Valley”
11X14 oil on panel I went out last Thursday morning to Rimrock Reserve, a small bit of preserved natural open space near my house, and painted this plein air. I have done 2 small 5X7 paintings of this area and wanted to see how it would be to paint the scene a little bigger. IContinue reading “Rimrock”
5X7″ oil on canvas panel This morning I went out and spent a couple of hours sitting in the foothills, painting, and just enjoying being outside on a quiet Saturday morning. I am enjoying the peace of plein air painting more and more. I’ve made a pact with myself to be at peace with theContinue reading “Cottonwood, Sage, and Tablerock”
6X8″ oil on canvas Today I went and sat in the back of my car as it rained and painted this little scene of rural but right in town Boise. There are little dirt roads here and there that make you feel like you are in the country. With downtown just a mile away. JustContinue reading “Tablerock”
I just posted a bunch of my small paintings on Etsy. Hop over and take a look!
8X10″ oil on canvas
5X7 plein air oil on panel I’m focusing on creating a decent composition and creating depth through color. In this one I tried to make the sage brush in the front higher in chroma than the trees behind it. And I really lightened the trees on the hill.
8X10″ oil on canvas This one makes me happy. I love stripes and mornings. I wrote a short description of it on Instagram. And it’s for sale.😊🌞
11X14 oil on canvas The Boise River is so high right now that it has flooded parts of the greenbelt and some areas downriver from where I live. I stood on a bridge to paint this one. I got a bunch of funny comments. Paintings don’t look like much in the beginning stages, at leastContinue reading “Flooded”
