I’ve been working away at this little doggie. I need to let it dry now and then come back in with a brighter white in places. And I’m still working out the rug. I’m general, I pretty much love this one.

New Etsy Listings
Hi there. I just got these images back from being scanned so I’m ready to sell the originals and can make prints of a bunch of my little and big paintings. And I have a record for myself of what I’ve done. That’s always exciting. And the professional photos are always so much better thanContinue reading “New Etsy Listings”
Art in the Bar Show
Thanks for your nice comments and encouragement about the show today. In my opinion it was a great success. A lot of people came through, I met a bunch of great people, learned some things, and sold some of my work. I got a lot of kind feedback. You can’t ask for too much moreContinue reading “Art in the Bar Show”
Surreal Rabbit
This one looks a little better in person than in the photo. I sat down today in front of a little 5″ white canvas with nothing in mind about what to paint, other than I’m on a rabbit streak, and this happened. I think it’s fun. Tomorrow I’m showing my work at a local artContinue reading “Surreal Rabbit”
Rabbits
I’m tempted to call them “Snuggle Bunnies”. But that’s just a little too cute for me. 4X5″ oil on deep edge canvas
Giant Flemish Rabbit
I went to the zoo today with my kids and the Giant Flemish Rabbit caught our eye so I took a few pictures. And then painted him. He was being a little shy and sleepy. We noticed that he has a big strange goiter like growth below his chin.
Just a Head
4X5″ oil on canvas I did this quick sketch of an elk head today. I enjoy painting wildlife but am starting to get bored with rendering out all the details of the critter and the space it’s in. Hence just the head and antlers, after all, they are the most interesting part of the elk,Continue reading “Just a Head”

Abstracted Rabbit 4X5″ oil on canvas It’s funny. Sometimes when I paint I will look at an image on my phone as a reference image and then paint on a canvas. But the dimensions of my phone are different than the canvas so things get shortened or elongated. I visually divide my phone image intoContinue reading “🐰”
Better in Black and White
Sometimes paintings look better in black and white, this is for sure one of those cases. I’m going to take a second shot at this one when it dries. I thought I’d share a bit of my Critterscape process. Nothing groundbreaking, I sketch with paint and then paint. I once heard someone say thatContinue reading “Better in Black and White”
Elk
Today’s 4×4″ painting. Just an FYI, nearly all of my little paintings are or will be for sale. Contact me if you want details. But of course I’m just happy to have you follow along.
