My brother in law took a photo of a bald eagle and posted it on Facebook, I grabbed it and used it for today’s crittrscape. I believe the eagle is sitting on the edge of a rice field near Chico, California. 4×4 oil on canvas

8×24″ oil on canvas This was a lot of fun to paint. I had been eyeing a pile of tree trimmings across the street for at least a week and today I dragged them into my studio and painted them and then added some birds.
Robin
A fat little Robin. I like the mossy post he’s standing on. 4×4″
Red Cardinal
I just finished this little cardinal. I’m happy with the branch more than anything. The bird got a little fussy and I’ll look at it again when it’s dry and maybe simplify. Or maybe just let it be. 5×5″ oil on canvas
