Foxy Foxy
Progress pictures of my foxes today. 4×4″ Fun to paint. This is my process, I sketch with burnt or raw umber, whichever tube I find first. And then paint from dark to light. Then background. It’s not always the same, but when I work wet on wet “alla prima” this is what I typically do.Continue reading “Foxy Foxy”
Burrowing Owl
This is my very favorite bird. I’m not much of an animal person, unlike my boys who live for wildlife, but the burrowing owl is pretty charming. Robin
A fat little Robin. I like the mossy post he’s standing on. 4×4″
Birds
I painted these little 4×4″ birds today for my show.

Foothills East
I carted my painting stuff out into the foothills today to paint this tree on the hillside. I’m trying to figure out landscape painting right now, lots to learn. There is always something new to tackle. I want to figure out painting a landscape/cityscape. So you’d see the foothills with Boise in the distance. IContinue reading “Foothills East”
Plein air mishap
I got this one going and then then wind really picked up and sent my painting sailing. It landed face down. But I like the weedy dirty effect.
