Beach

Yesterday I worked more on the couple sitting on a log.  I worked out and cooled off the skin on both of them to separate them from the main figure which is the lanky preteen walking across the beach.  You can see that I plugged in the little girl in the distance.  I also worked on the guys hat.  I like the way they look.

I’m working on building up a series of beach paintings and figure paintings.  I’d like to show my work in a gallery and my attitude is that if I don’t try it certainly won’t happen.  So I am going to try.  So far I have 2 that are the quality of work that I’d show.  This one, which is still in progress, and the kids playing in the wave.  I have my next painting planned.  I plan to paint 20.

  1. Hi I loved reading your little narrative, I got the impression that you were an old hand at this so it was quite refreshing to read your feelings about putting your work, which is lovely by the way, into a gallery. I think your work is more than gallery ready and I hope you aren’t going to wait till you have 20 pieces to show. I will follow your progress with interest.

    1. Thank you! That is a wonderful comment. I took a 15 year break from painting and did other types of art while my kids were little. A little less than 2 years ago I started painting again. I love making things, especially paintings.

  2. every person in your paintings is involved with someone or actively with him/her selve and I love that. Your body postures are wonderful and I am intrigued with how you accomplish that !
