Happy Thanksgiving
Treehouse
Red Cliffs
I went out and painted Ref Cliff’s today in the Boise foothills. The painting is small, loose, and abstracted. I was trying to just catch the colors of the hills more than render it exactly. That was hard for me, and I felt unsure about it. But then my friend came over to buy aContinue reading “Red Cliffs”
Firebreak 2
I liked this view so much that I painted it again. This one is 12×12, the other is 8×8. They will both be in my studio sale. What doesn’t sell locally I’ll put on Etsy on December 12th. In my completely neglected etsy shop. I can’t even remember my shop name, I’ll get back toContinue reading “Firebreak 2”

Nov 15 trees
The leaves are coming down. It was a cold, grey, drizzly day in Boise. But still pretty. I painted this one at Marianne Williams Park. I’m enjoying Plein air painting. 8X8″ oil on panel
Ponderosa Pines
I’ve been working on this pine tree painting. Up above the foothills in Boise there are beautiful Ponderosa Pine forests that remind me of the Redwood forests in Northern California near where I am from. The trees just aren’t as big and tall.
River and Trees
Nov 12th trees: Downtown Boise
Today when I was out painting it was cloudy and grey. My painting reflects it. This is the river in downtown Boise. I left out the building behind the trees. I was right across from the Morrison Center which is on campus at Boise State University.
