Nov 10th Trees
The fall colors in Boise are still hanging on so I went down and sat on the rocks and wet leaves by the river and painted. I like this one. And I like my tree a day challenge because I can already see evolution in my work. One idea always rolls into the next. ThereContinue reading “Nov 10th Trees”
Red Cardinal
I just finished this little cardinal. I’m happy with the branch more than anything. The bird got a little fussy and I’ll look at it again when it’s dry and maybe simplify. Or maybe just let it be. 5×5″ oil on canvas
Nov 8th trees
I am happy with today’s trees. I went and sat by the river and painted Plein air. I love all the color I can see when I am outside and working from life. There are a few little things to touch up but is mostly there.

2 Cardinals
Here are my cardinals. Female and male.

Oct 31st Catalpa and Maple
Here’s another painting of trees at Manitau (dog) park. 5×7 oil on canvas. I wanted to paint this because I like the bright colors of the changing fall leaves contrasted with the dark tangle of trees and bushes behind them.
Oct 29th Trees- Plein Air
Today I packed all my stuff into the back of my car and went out and painted on location. I painted as fast as I could because I was limited by time. I don’t normally paint on location. There are a lot of variables from weather to time that make it tricky, as all PleinContinue reading “Oct 29th Trees- Plein Air”
