I’m not done with most of the paintings I’ve been doing recently but I’ve had fun getting them all to 80% and moving on.
This painting is of my daughter collecting shells on the beach in Mendocino. She took a look at this the other day and asked why she looked so terrible.
On the last bunch of paintings I’ve done recently I have blocked in the background first and then carved the figures back out. That’s where I am right now with this painting. I can bring out the figure and see how it relates to the background right away.
Very cool seeing how you start.
