This one is clearly inspired by Wayne Thibaud’s “Yellow Dress.” I painted this well over a year ago when I was picking up my paintbrush again after a long break from oil painting- while my kids kept me really busy. It’s my daughters little dress.
I hung it on the wall and painted it as a still life.
This is one lovely dress!!

Beautiful painting, I especially like the blue shadow with the strong abstract outline. From the photo of your daughter I can clearly recognize the gravatar (right?) an amazing likeness with lots of character.

I love the blue background and shadow, also the glints at the edges and hem of the dress.

Thats a beautiful dress! I love how the gold weaves through the dress on your painting. It looks like an ancient greek dress!

This is beautiful! I love the strength and boldness of it. You have inspired me to add clothing to my list of subjects I want to paint.

Thank you! You should, it’s fun and no harder than anything else. Just shapes and values. 🙂 Have a good one! I look forward to seeing some clothing paintings from you 😉
