My one and only watercolor. I bought a set when I moved from California to Idaho to try to cheer myself up and painted one picture of my old house on my head, with my 2 little bird boys standing on top. I’m not sure why I didn’t do more watercolors and I lost my set.
I’ve seen so many fun watercolor paintings recently on your blogs that I’m inspired to buy a new little set of watercolors and give it another try. You all are inspiring!
(I posted this a few months ago…with a long sad story and a bunch of pictures)
I love this!!

Reading your referring post really helped me to understand this one and your painting. I can imagine if I were to move away from my home I would have an extremely difficult time, so I understand how you felt. I have been just started to get back into working with my watercolors. They are actually my favorite medium though I feel more confident and proficient in soft pastels. I can’t wait to see more of what you do in watercolor. 🙂

I do hope you paint more in watercolor! I like your little birdies on your house – looks like such a good memory for you. I looked at your old post and was amazed with all those little kiddos on the couch! Lots of kids the same age to play with which reminded me of my childhood. Nice you have been able to stay in touch with your friends there. 🙂

I was looking at your potraits, they are very nice and I see you make the eyes so vivid. Do you paint potraits from photographs? My ex-mother/n/law is 90 years old and she had an artist from Carmel paint a potrait of her from a photograph. It came out lovely, but he was getting older and said it would be his last painting. I would like to find someone who could do a painting from a photograph.

Hi Jill,
I really enjoyed the detail you shared in the post you linked, about planting the maple tree when your boy was born. For some reason, that part stood out to me…

Ok! I’ll go buy them today. Another scary new adventure ;). I think it would be fun to do quick “sketches” with watercolors. Thank you, nice comment!
